This is the true story of Börje Salming’s incredible journey from an outcast struggling to find his place in a society that doesn’t believe in him, to becoming a beloved and world-famous hockey player, one of the first European players in the NHL. The limited drama series traces this journey made by a young boy destined to work in the mines of Kiruna, a small town located in the outskirts of Northern Sweden, to his legendary 1970s showdown with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
